Find the hidden message... wait, come back!

Dan: Hey man, are you like me? D'ya always feel like someone's watching you?

Rob: What, spies? I might, only nothing interesting ever happens around here.
notes: maybe he meant ghosts or gods or Rockwell

Rob: But hey, if they've got nothing better to do than chump their time away checking me out, I say by me guest.
notes: put your patience to the test

Ned: ... and there it is.
notes: what a punk
Dan: whoops...

What's going on, is the comic blurry today? No, this isn't just a really bad JPEG compression. I experimented by using my pencil sketch as line art instead of taking the time to "ink" it in Photoshop. I've always liked the pencil sketch look, and if I decide to stick with this style it should save me a good amount of production time. On the other hand, I'll need to tighten up my sketches a little because I won't be able to conveniently revise the lines in later stages anymore.

Anyway, I think this is the last of the self-referential strips I thought up in the beginning.

The "patience" note in the third frame is meant to be read to the tune of "Be Our Guest" from Disney's Beauty and the Beast. If that's not obvious. I would have had Rob singing the words himself... but he's not that guy.

Ned, somehow observing the goings-on and commenting in the fourth panel, is one of those guys who delights in others' failures, since it makes him feel more successful, at least relatively. Those guys are called jackasses.
